  • Standard Battle Order (SBO): Bring your iLBV or LBS (depending on what was issued to you)

  • Full Battled Order (FBO): SBO + Field Pack

Left G. Pouch1x Swiss Army Knife/SOG ToolSharp. Know how to open and close your knife safely. The SOG issued is usually the only type permitted in camp.
Left G. Pouch1x WhistleIssued one is breakable. A small brass one is more durable while a storm whistle is louder. Black tape it if you upgrade to something more shiny or colourful.
Left G. Pouch1x ear plugsUse the ones connected to each other with cord so they can loop through your collar eyehole.
Left G. Pouch1x torchlightCheck battery. Remember the filters, especially the red light one for night ops.

Left G. Pouch1x black tapeSquash the roll or tape it around an old credit card for a lower profile. Nitto brand is a good alternative that is durable.

Utility Pouch1x comms cordMake sure there is sufficient cordage. If used, burn the strands of the loose end together to ensure it doesn't fray further.

Right M. Pouch1x Writing KitReplace issued one with a waterproof notebook with permanent marker pen. Pilot Twin Markers ideal.
Right M. Pouch1x wet wipesCamo Wipes good for getting camo off. Avoid scented wipes.
Right G. Pouch1x insect repellentApply only to clothes and not directly to skin. Super effective, odourless and no need to upgrade.
Right G. Pouch1 set camo cream1 tube of green, 1 tube of black. Suggest an extra set if you sweat a lot. Green used more.

L/R Water Bottle Pouch1x water bottleDepending on instruction 1-2 bottle of water. Make sure there is no funky smell.

11x No. 4 uniformMake sure country and name tape are visible.
21x green towelRanger roll it for compactness and making a neat little pillow for sleeping on.
31x SAF Admin T-ShirtSingapore's favourite T-shirt. Make sure insignia is visible. Availble in a nicer dry-fit version.
31x SAF Running Short
32x underwear
32x SAF combat socksBlack or green as issued. Darn Tough do a nice combat sock that avoids blisters.
41x foot powder in containerSeal it up with black tape to avoid spillage. More useful is a small dry bag with foot powder. Some prefer Prickly Heat but the SAF version is more cooling.
41x toilet paper rollTake out the cardboard roll and compress. Camping stores have pre-compressed toilet rolls.
41x SAF disposable pre-soap spongCan fit 3-4 into one packet and is pretty much weightless.
41x toothpasteBring your own or everyone's favourite Darlie tooth paste brand.
41x toothbrushRemember, electric toothbrushes aren't tactical.
41x shaving kitIssued one not great, suggest to ugprade to your choice of shaver. Electric shaver not very tactical.
52x AA size batteriesCheck if charged. Black tape together for better storage.
51 pair boot laces
51 pair garters
51x lighterCan't go wrong with BIC lighters. Black tape the nozzle to avoid gas leakage. "Wind proof" and storm lighters never seem to last as long as a BIC.
51x sewing kitMake sure it's complete with some No.4 pattern fabric.
51x black tapeSquash it or roll it around an old credit card for a lower profile. Nitto brand is a good alternative that is durable.
56x tea candlesNot a standard item anymore.
51x Kiwi and brushWhat's issued isn't Kiwi. Treat yourself right and get a proper tin of Kiwi.
61x mess tinMake sure it's clean and brillo'd clean.
61x SAF green mugMake sure it's clean, undamaged and not funky smelling.
61x fork and spoonYou weren't trusted with a knife, so get a fork, knife, spoon set that connects to itself if you want to be useful.
71x sandals/slippersCheck buckles for wear and tear.
81x individual range card
81x black markerGet a decent waterproof one like the Stabilo OHP Permanent Marker.
84x Arc of Fire sticksShould keep it in the field pack strapped under the internal webbing.
84x umbrella pinNot issued to SAFVC.
82x sandbagIssued in camp. Check for holes and damage.
81x shellscrape markingIssued in camp. Check length fits you and your buddy.
