SV Combatives
As serving volunteer soldiers, SVs should be familiar with the concept of self-defense. Knowing how to protect yourself not only ensures your safety but for those around you. It is a great way to build confidence while staying fit, and it's an opportunity to connect with people - "those who train together, bond together".
SV Combatives puts together multi-discipline martial arts training and special events. SVs can train in a single discipline or across multiple disciplines.
All SV Combatives events are done at qualified and approved training locations in Singapore.
“Self-defense is not only our right, but our duty.”

Martial Arts Disciplines
Krav Maga
Krav Maga is the Israeli defence system that has been adopted by military, law enforcement and security agencies worldwide. It is a modern and integrated methodology of self-defence, fighting and combat that is designed to be effective, practical and realistic. Ever evolving, it trains practitioners to handle all types of violent confrontations - from bare hands to knives, sticks and firearms.
Training is conducted at Kravist Singapore, and led by fellow SV and certified KMG instructor, Wan.
Judo
Judo is the Japanese unarmed martial art that was developed by Sensei Kano Jigoro and is predominantly a grappling system that teaches throws and groundwork to subdue an opponent. While today’s judo is more of a sport, it forms the basis for a number self-defence techniques. With its focus on randori (or sparring), it is a system that fosters martial competitiveness, fitness and thought in its practitioners.
Judo training is conducted at certified dojo with qualified instructors supervising.
Competence
As volunteer soldiers, we’re in the business of defending what is valuable. Regular training in a martial arts discipline provides you with the knowledge and experience to improve your competence to defend yourself and those around you.

Confidence
While martial arts training helps improve cardiovascular, strength, and agility, it is only through regular ongoing training that improves your ability to confidently face violence and confrontations with the right skills.
Connection
While there are many ways to build bonds, nothing quite builds the same level of respect and connection as the martial arena. Training together with your fellow SVs gives you the opportunity to build trust, respect and camaraderie with them.
