First Aid is an essential skill, especially when responding to a casualty, as it serves as the primary source of care. In outdoor settings, the risk increases due to the lack of resources typically found in urban environments, along with challenges in accessing medical services. Therefore, a first responder in outdoor situations must be adept at adapting their first aid training to suit the unique demands of the environment.

SVxSV is arranging with Singapore Red Cross to provide a Basic Outdoor First Aid course in a half-day session exclusively for SVs and their families. This course will be of particular use to SVs who deploy in an outdoor setting, as well as those who take part in our #forSVbySV activities, such as the SV Trailblazer hikes.

Course Details

• The course will build upon Standard First Aid techniques with specific application to the outdoor environment.

• Participants who successfully complete the course will be issued a Certificate of Participation from Singapore Red Cross.

• The course is taught by qualified Singapore Red Cross instructors.

• There is no certification requirement to attend this course.

Course Cost

• Full Course Fee: $75.00 per pax, exclusive of GST

• This course is not eligible for SkillsFuture grant at the moment.

• Registration Deadline: 2100 on Friday 12 April, 2024

• The course requires a minimum of 8 participants to run. There are a maximum of 16 places available.

• A deposit of $50 per pax will be required to secure a spot on this course.
